Friday night hubs and I went to the Demolition Derby at the county fair. We love demo derby's and cant wait to go to the state fair. But if it's anything like the county fair we may never go again....(here comes a rant). We first got there and everything was fine. We got a good seat facing away from the sun. We got some good food(not healthy...but good), sat down and just enjoyed the fair. Until the kids came. First it was the family wearing socks with sandalls..really? Who in their right mind thinks this looks attractive? They had 2 boys who were about 6 and twins. One of the boys just couldnt hold still. He kept climbing all over the bleachers and putting his dirty little hands all over me. Then he sat next to me...on my blanket...and then layed on me. It wasn't a light little 'oh let me rest my head on your arm' lay. NO! It was a full on 'let me rest my whole body on you arm and leg and then wipe my grimy hands all over your nice shirt'. I finally lifted my arm and made him move. Then the sock with sandalls wearing dad starts coughing and my hair starts flying in my face. Thats right....he was coughing all over the back of my head. Seriously?! Who does that?! I wanted so bad to stand up and just flip out on him....but I was calm and just held it in. Then there were kids that kept climbing all over the fence even after the police came and told them to get off. Not just the fairgrounds workers but the freakin police! Hello?! Where the H are your parents and why arent they being parents. If my kids are like this they will not go anywhere! But my kids wont be like this because I wont let them. Anyway....even with all that the derby was still great as always. We love seeing the cars get slammed and catch on fire. And we cant wait for the state fair. Does this make us hicks? haha oh well...we're happy!
